If you really want to style it up to your shoulder - I recommend that you get it straightened by a good salon. It's a little pricey - $300 for a shoulder-length hair BUT it's worth it. No frizz up to 10 months. Ask for Japanese product --- sorry, I do not know the name.

Remember, a reputable salon it must be!

my hair is very thick too! i have long layers in it. i wouldn't recommend a fringe but maybe a layer to your ear or thereabouts. a good ceramic straightening irons is a must too! have fun but i find shoulder length + is the best length for thick hair (i've been there, trust me!!)

Basically your going to have to continue to blow dry it if you want it straight or use the straighten comb. Use plenty of mosture - the pink oil is pretty good when I wear my hair natural. Also if you have naturally curly hair you can put a texturizer in it to keep the curl active.

small tight curls . you will need 0.5 in curling iron , hairspray. hairspray a strand at a time apply iron curling tightly for few seconds and unravel spray lock do this to all hair you can choose to wear up or down either way you decide you will look stunning. Also, crimping hair in same fashion is not time consuming results are worth it.

I think it is great that you have some texture to your hair! Keep it wavy, but define your waves by curing them. With your hair like this you could wear it down, clipped half up half down, or any way you like!

Please don't straiten it every day. You are so lucky to have some sort of texture to your hair. Mine is so strait that it looks like it sticks to my head, and doesn't hold any curls. If you are worried about your frizz, buy something that you can spritz in your hair while it is wet. I would use Aussie conditioning shine spray.
